Play-based learning

In your home, play might be loud ...

In your home, play might be loud, messy and chaotic. However, at NCC early learners, the emphasis is on learning - in a very fun way! All parents of young children know that play is an essential part of learning for children, as it enables the development of skills and knowledge in an enjoyable manner. NCC early learner’s effective play-based program can assist children to develop lifelong learning skills that will stay with them beyond the early learning setting of our exciting indoor and outdoor play spaces.

Engaging in play-based learning allows children to use and develop thinking skills such as problem solving and lateral thinking, as well as presenting opportunities to interact with others, use communication strategies and work in together with peers and adults. It can foster numeracy, literacy and the development of scientific concepts. As children are empowered to make decisions and initiate play, they become confident and motivated learners.

Through play, children try on every role and situation they've encountered in life. They explore the world around them and make it their own. Their play is often serious, but it is also enjoyable and deeply satisfying. We encourage you to get down on the floor and participate in your child’s play – you never know how much you might learn!
